I'm a big believer in using sketchbooks throughout GCSE, iGCSE, A Level and IB Diploma. Sometimes at this level they can turn into scrapbooks rather than traditional working sketchbooks but I quite like this providing they don't become over designed. I regularly remind students that their own Artwork should be the main feature of sketchbooks and there should never be simply pages and pages of printed photos or images from the internet.

These were created by three Year 9 students in response to a mixed media Architecture Topic. After researching buildings from different parts of the world, students created a collage before using a viewfinder to choose different sections to illustrate from. These three students all decided to combine watercolour paint with coloured pencil.
This incredible A Level Fine Art Final piece was created by one of my old A Level Art students. He was interested in exploring the links and combinations of traditional art forms and digital art forms. This video is a screen recording of 20 hours of tablet drawing on Adobe Photoshop.
